Let It Go! Shed the Old and Step Boldly Into a New Beginning Skip to the content

Gallop into the New

‘Tis the season of “Let it Go”.

Take a moment, hop on Spotify or iTunes or whatever outlet you use, and blast the song from Frozen. What a brilliant song. Use your voice, sing it out loud, move your body, dance it out! And breathe while you do it, so you move all that energy outta ya!

“Let it go, let it go
Can’t hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don’t care what they’re going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway”
-Frozen

You can do it, and it IS time now, truly. The Lunar year is closing out the Year Of the Snake and we are entering the Year Of the Horse. Think about the snake shedding its old skin (and if you are reading this in the current timeline, January 2026, then the snake is shedding its tail). All while entering the Year Of the Horse, which we want to gallop into the newness with clear direction and intentions.

Do the Work

Now that you’ve danced it out, let’s do the work to shed. Shedding comes in all forms. It is literal. So, think about beliefs, patterns, clothing, furniture, letters from old lovers, resentments, old to-do lists, expectations, and beyond. The way to practice renewal is to Do It The Way It Works Best For You (always). In no specific order:

  • Let go of the clothes that don’t represent you anymore
  • Go through old drawers in different rooms of your home, clear it out
  • Make a list of things you’ve already let go of this year and declare completion
  • Make a list of new things that you’re now realizing that are coming to an end
  • End that old relationship if it’s not serving you anymore, file that divorce
  • And anything else that is no longer in service of your timeline now

Basically, when think about your world, shed the old that feels complete. This will allow you to feel the renewed energy to create space for the new beginnings to evolve.

Let’s Start the New

It’s important to know that as we create endings, that they’re leading us to new energy, new strength, new availability to our desires, and new beginnings. So let’s begin! Let’s run and gallop into our rebirth (the Year Of the Horse). Think of yourself as that beautiful, intuitive, gorgeous horse. To be inspired, watch this video from @iamglytja on Instagram (I was obsessed, I sent it to everybody).

Reminder to do this practice The Way It Works Best For You. In no specific order:

  • Start that new relationship, hire that matchmaker! Schedule your Discovery Session here 😉
  • Plan and take that vacation
  • Make a list of your wishes and make sure you fulfill them
  • Invest in that thing that you’ve wanted. Buy it now!
  • Propose to your person
  • Do the project
  • And anything else that has been lingering as your heart’s desire, it’s time now!

As my bff, Courtney Dillon said in her 2026 Forecast, “Do the damn thing!” It’s the year – to do the damn thing. So let’s do it!

Do the Damn Thing

One of the ways that I like to initiate intentions (as you know from my previous blog), is to appreciate and give credit where credit is due first. Let’s take the time to give gratitude to all the things around us, acknowledge them with reverence and awe. This helps us have the fuel and confidence to co-create the new. Enjoy the journey, my loves!

An Invitation

If you are ready to let go and actually do the damn thing, all while being supported in your work, let’s begin with a Discovery Session. Together, we will explore the Heartwork and how Empowered Matchmaking and Relationship Coaching can support you on your journey.
